Have you seen “The ghost and the tout too”? I just finished watching the movie and it was interesting, I enjoyed it. It’s the sequel to “ The ghost and a tout”, which tells the story of a ghetto lady Isla (Toyin Abraham), who sees and communicates with ghosts and other spiritual beings.
The ability or gift made people think she was crazy and she tried to get rid of the powers until her friend Maka (Mercy Johnson-Okojie) convinced her to let them make money with it, which then made her meet Amoke (Osas Ighodaro) who was in coma, and led to so much story the whole movie was almost about. They had to look for who poisoned her, why, and how to help her survive, which brought about this unexpected friendship between them.
I think Toyin Abraham movies are just feel good movies that you watch, laugh and don’t really read meanings to, or else, you’d be wondering what the whole movie was about or the lessons learnt. I didn’t watch the first part of the movie, so I can’t really compare or tell you which is better, but I think this movie tried and it was worth it for me.
The acting was great, and even though it was pretty star studded, it was alright to me. Though you would wonder what some of them were doing in the movies, it was still nice seeing old faces that I haven’t seen in a while like Ruggedman, Mama G, and so many others.
I think the movie kind of dragged at some point and some scenes weren’t necessary, like the fight scenes, but it’s all about showing the ghetto which isn’t so bad. It’s not a serious plot, so don’t watch expecting anything, just watch to feel good and you would enjoy it.
I honestly watched it with an open mind and I can say I enjoyed it, it was okay to me. I’d rate 6.5/10. Get ready to see many stars oh, because them full ground. Some of the familiar faces you’d see are: Ini Edo, Deyemi Okanlawon, Iyabo Ojo, Destiny Etiko, Odunlade Adekola, RealWarri Pikin and so many others. Oh, I almost forgot, it’s available on Netflix if you would like to see it! You can check out the trailer here!
