8yrs my Bestie, she won’t celebrate my wins. I would carry her success like it’s mine.
When it’s time to celebrate me I would have to call her “babe you didn’t even call me , you didn’t even say congratulations “

There was this close friend of mine, we were pretty close and I always wanted the best for her
I got a cheap USA traveling link, I and my husband wanted to do it so I told her if she was interested
She said they didn’t have money to process it and all
I was like okay😪Everything will be fine
I told her about the person that was processing it cos she also knew the LADY
My friend said she didn’t know the LADY does traveling processing
I actually believed her until I discovered she was already processing the same USA months ago with the same woman without telling me😂and she was claiming she didn’t know the woman does traveling 😂
She even called the woman not to tell me anything about it
When I heard I felt Betrayed
She was obviously in a competition with me😂😂

Few weeks after I heard she was traveling to the UK with her family

I came from Ibadan to lag for her intro and wedding (I was doing my masters in UI) she called for a loan of 100k,told her I didn’t have that kind of money at the moment,she zoned off.when it was my wedding I mentioned I had aso ebi but she insisted on being on my train, I was really excited you know. A day to my wedding called her she said she was on her way. Never saw her at the wedding … called her that same day coz I was really scared something happened to her. She never called or responded.. a year to 2 later I invited to speak on a WhatsApp group and she was saying time zone and all. When I asked she said she was out of the country. In my mind, I thought vacation after the talk I sent her message to appreciate her for her time to speak on the group. I asked when she was coming back and said she relocated with her family for a while now… I just concluded I was in the relationship all by myself and gave up. Hmm so there was this friend I had which I loved very much, I even got her a job in my organization because she was in serious need of one, I was pushing the HR and my boss for her to get a letter which they told me would be sent to her based on my recommendation, this girl didn’t tell me when she got the job until a day before her resumption, came in and messed up the job, put my reputation on the line, left the job without saying a word or even properly resigning. And also cut me off. This is the summary.

I was really hurt, at some point it felt like I was pushing her too much to excel, my love and concern was thrown in my face.

I gave birth and she only came to visit me once, after two months I asked why she hasn’t come to visit. She said she was sick to the point of death but I always saw her pictures and videos jumping from one party to the other. We were friends for 16 years, it’s been over 2 years and we haven’t spoken

Was her maid of honor been friends for seven years, her second pregnancy she didn’t share the news. Her elder sister was the one who told me, when i sent the congratulation over her pregnancy she lied the months saying she was six months 🤣😯😲 and told me she didn’t share the news because her pastor told her that they were monitoring spirit. I asked her I was the monitoring spirit, two weeks later she gave birth to a son 3kg .

She used to be my best friend in secondary school, we got into Uni and she started calling me only when she needed stuff. We graduated and she would only call me whenever she was in my town and needed a place to sleep. After that, communication would literally stop. She would ignore my messages and calls or give me that one line response.
2020 Christmas, I was in her town and I was like oh, I’m in your town, let’s have lunch. That day came and she stood me up. Didn’t show up to the restaurant or pick up my calls. She called me after 2 days that she is sorry, blah blah blah. She went out with her other friends and forgot we were supposed to see.
I blocked her number after that call.

Friend 1- friend from uni.
She thinks I am never broke, like I always have to give cos my father has money .
She never has money , okay. Support as a friend nko? Nba.
She always wants me to be available for her but she brings absolutely nothing .
2. Gossiping- she gossips people and I can’t deal. Pure bitterness.
I later heard all she said about me after I cut her off.
Apparently, she used to gossip about me too and the people who she did it with told me but said they didn’t bother telling cos I won’t even listen( they know I hate them say dem say) why was she comfortable gossiping me with you ? They are all thesame.

Friend 2/3- Gossiping.
When I met my husband in 2022 and I announced that I was getting married later that year( I met husband in July, wedding was Dec) I announced in November cos it was hush hush.
They said they don’t understand this my sudden marriage o. Me that ordinary bf I don’t have. That where I see hu
These friends didn’t think to ask me their friend a Meanwhile, we were all in thesame prayer group and a volunteering job that belongs to one of us but I do the job cos I loved the idea.
That’s not why I even cut them off totally.
I did it cos what are we then praying about in the prayer group when after God answered one of us you’re gossiping and won’t ask me?
Also I was just ranting to one of them a month before I met my husband how one guy I met was treating me and I had to stop talking to him altogether. Abd she was forming sister / good friend and consoling me.

Well, I didn’t stop there o. I cut them off, I also cut off the person that they gossiped with ( the person that told me what they said)
And I left all groups we all belonged to and I sent them my wedding invite

I have forgiven them; but I’m no longer interested in the friendship.
One of them reached out to me recently, to congratulate me on the arrival of my baby.
This one tries to talk me into saying it was God that asked her to call me bla bla ( I want interested) it was a chat on IG cos her number is blocked.

I cut a number of my friends off after my father’s death and burial. They were not there for me, as I would be there for them. They barely called after he passed on, didn’t attend the funeral, or send any apologies for not being there. Death/loss is painful, going through it alone without the people you thought you had is way more painful. I felt like I can’t be the one always giving, supporting, being there, and getting little to nothing back in return. It’s better to have fewer friends than a multitude and yet have no one. Quality over quantity, any day any time.

I’m really big on mutual respect, something our friendship lacked. Whenever she did something wrong and I tried to give her friendly correction, she’d flare up and cause a scene; I’d end up apologising for the sake of peace.
At some point, I just had to let go: I told her my reason and walked away.

She is younger, a friend of hers that I have always knew told me about her and how she is being maltreated where she was staying, I took her in like a sister, allowed her to stay with me till she get balanced while she was with me i introduced her to the rest of my family, took her home to my family during holidays cos I don’t want her feeling alone or bored. I generally treated her same way I will treat my sisters and I have never introduced her to anyone as friend, I do tell people she is my sister. She finally got her balance and started staying alone and even travelled out, the way I feel for her did not change, until I told her about someone that she knows, the same way I will sit and gist or gossip with my sisters, it was a voice note, this girl showed me what I never realised about her, she forwarded the VN to a person I gisted her about, the whole matter became so messy that families and friends started calling me about it, my pain was that this girl denied forwarding

The VN to anyone and even when the person in question(that I send her vn about) have the actual vn I sent to her, she still denied and insulted me. I just block her cos the matter was getting messy and I was being quarried by friend and family that will normally not even call me or have my number, I felt so betrayed and most of all embarrassed especially by her lies and denial

Funnily she do tell me about other people I know with her, even the ones I don’t know and I have never judged her, call her a gossip or stoop so low to go tell those people what she said about them

We were friends for 2years and within that Years we’ve had issues like twice
First she said I was using jazz to get man cos she found out someone who use to ask her out was asking me out ,while the person was asking me out I wasn’t even friends with her ,I turn down the person when we became friends and I found out he has once asked her out ,the guy doesn’t even know us together .she threatened to beat me up then 😂later came back sha

The second fight was her saying I should shift my wedding date cos her cousin was having her wedding same day as mine 😂😂I actually did shift it a week after her cousins own sha ..

The one that broke everything was she wanting a share of what her uncle gave me as wedding gift (she get gifts from my husband and I’ve never asked for share)
That was when I kissed the friendship goodbye

She lied about something that happened between us to her sister. When her sister asked me for confirmation, I said the truth. I wasn’t even aware of the different story she told her sister, if I did, I would have supported in covering up for her. When everything came to the open, she tried blaming me and I wouldn’t have any of such. She eventually formed a gang up with another mutual friend to humiliate me. Those girls insulted me ehn. I cut both of them off. The other friend came to apologize years after but it was too late. We still talk but never to be friends again.

Friends for 6yrs plus, we did a lot of things together and when I was about to be married I invited this babe, her excuse was it was around the same time as her menstrual period and she’s going to have cramps 🥴. She went to tell her Husband that I use to have so many lovers in school and that I was leaving with guys in school…where as she was the one who was living off from guys I mean she lived with her boyfriend for 4years in school and whenever her parent comes visiting she will use my room as hers until they leave…long story short when she gave birth I went to see her from Lagos to Enugu when her husband came to pick me up, he was just hailing me, saying stuff like he heard my gist oo…how I dey do runs for school…I was shocked cos me and her knows that wasn’t true and she was the one doing it…I just kept quiet cos I didn’t want to spill the tea to her husband and end up ruining her marriage…end up spending 3days instead of a week cos I couldn’t bear it…and right then and there I deleted her number…8years of friendship…

She was full of jealousy, never appreciated anything I wore or bought. Her mum joined and says mine is fake or they have the original. I sell confectionaries, she will not patronize me and buy from others that everyone confirmed mine is better and cheaper just to form class and tag brand because they are known or she want to be seen with as high class babe. I unfollowed her on Facebook because I felt disrespected, you didn’t like my post , yet reposted for others that you don’t even talk to and you always cry to me for advice. Friends for almost 20yrs. Attended her dad’s burial, stayed up till 2am packing souvenirs. When we finished i asked her to drop me off at my hotel, which was literally down d road, cos it was raining. She said NO! And asked me how I expect her to drive a short distance under the rain just to drop me off at 2am.

I couldn’t believe my ears. I then asked for umbrella cos it was part of d souvenirs we just packed, aunty refused oh! After much quarrel she reluctantly gave me 1 umbrella, very grudgingly and I had to walk under the rain, through mud, at 2am in d morning. Why? Cos of friendship. Lmao!

Mind u, I travelled by air to attend this burial and paid for my hotel myself, after contributing a massive amount of money towards d funeral. That experience opened my eyes to d true nature of our relationship. Friendship is overrated abeg!

My ‘best friend of 20 years told another of our friends not to tell me when she was going in to have a cesarean section to have her baby. This is someone I had stood by the whole 9 months.
2. This same bff was the reason I stopped talking to another of our friends.
I randomly asked her one day if friend B was pregnant. She said ‘ I don’t know’ guess what friend B gave birth a day before I asked her and I found out on Instagram. Walahi it pained me .
* she was quick to deny things she did or said .
I stopped talking to her I’ve blocked her now sha .
Plus she thinks everything is about her, tried to be controlling me like she did her other friends. Ko possible

Cut off with quite a number of friends
1) I was in a group chat with 2 other friends. I was always initiating hang outs & for us to spend time, but they would give excuses, yet i saw their stories all the time with two of them going everywhere. I was never invited. I complained & then they will invite me to weddings on the day of d event. Lol. I cried sha bcos i felt abandoned. I ended up removing myself from the group chat. Cos i realized i was just friends with myself.

2) i had this friend i really liked. My ex fiance and her husband were friends & we were close. She was there for me when my fiance dropped me some months to our wedding like a bad habit without explanations and insulted me in public (rhapsodys) i really appreciated her. But she started to treat me funny later on. I thought it was just in my head. I was always asking to see her & she always said she wasnt available. She would have birthday parties and not invite me. Recently, she had a baby, didnt tell me, didnt invite me to the naming till i saw pictures on ig & congratulated her . Then made up my mind to move on.

3) i was in an entirely different group with two other girls. Because we lived in different countries, we often videoed called. One of us got married. When the other one wanted to get married, they both agreed not to tell me. And we were always chatting in the group. She came back to Nigeria to get married & gave a funny reason why both of them didnt tell me. As usual, i just left the group for them. I’m a proud loner now because i really can’t anymore. Too many betrayals.

She was to be my best lady and only bridal train for the wedding, she kept on posting the day she’d come to my city during the wedding week. She lied that flight was cancelled and even still promised to come the day to the wedding. Eventually she never showed up for the wedding . Wish I could send a voice note explaining. In first year, I attended her brothers wedding, also attended the birthday of her brothers first son. I travelled from imo state to Lagos for her sisters wedding. I spent nothing less than 40k then in school. My parents didn’t know. I also went for her other sister’s child birthday party. Actually I was the one that cooked. I came back to Lagos after school and a year later (2018) she was getting married. Trad was at Enugu (thurs) and white was at abia (sat) I took leave from work and travelled for a week for her wedding. Fast forward. Last year April was my wedding and I told her even from January she told me she wouldn’t be coming. No reason at all. Part 1

Part 2.
The fact that she didn’t come and was saying it boldly to me that she wouldn’t come was the problem. Same friend that asked me to pick money for both her white and trad and her husband people were calling me a thief. I didn’t know that the agreement was that her husband people were to pick the money. But because she told me to help her claming she had some bills to pay. I did. This same friend, I had all her escapades in my hand when we were in school. Her boyfriend then now husband called me and asked me if he should marry her convincing me to tell him some things about his said girlfriend and I told him NOTHING!! I really don’t want to wake up old wounds.

Another friend was telling me about a guy that was obsessed with my ass. She was always showing the guy random pics about me just to prove her point but the guy wasn’t having it. She finally snapped me one day while I was naked from the back (without my consent)and showed to the guy. Guess what? She and the guy are married now and based abroad!

I wasn’t bother and then he entered the entertainment space as me knew everyone I know and I felt this distance but I still call to check on him cause he was a very good friend not only to me but my family as well, when my Mum was sick he helped out so well with hospital runs and when she died he follow me to my hometown to bury her. I called to check on him last year and he just cut of the fone on me saying “you called to check on me” and cut off the call. July was his birthday he sent an invite I never knew cause all he all do is to send me broadcast of his shows and he said I never acknowledged the invite I told him we barely talk and went through our chats and I realize I was the one who always instigate conversations, the chats got heated he blocked me and dropped a VN that I should be thankful he still remembers me, I blocked him of too on all social media and he recently followed me with his company’s account I blocked him. She had self inflicted financial problems and asked me to ask my bf for a loan on her behalf. I told her he was broke. I realized she was leaving above her means and told her to tell her mum to reduce her demands because she had no money. I even tried to source for funds from others friends but realized she wasn’t credit worthy. I then took it upon myself to check on her often. Next I heard from someone else was she reported me to a mutual friend that I said her mum was the problem and I was also adding to her depression by checking on her every 2 days. This was after I sent her son money for birthday present o. I just let her be. We’ve been friends for 7 years.

I was taking her bullshit because she gave me shelter when I really needed it but I was contributing financially to anything they want to do in the house within the 6 months I spent there. After I moved to my own space I realized that anytime this friend want to borrow money from people, she will tell them that I’m the one that want to borrow the money, knowing fully well that I dont borrow money from people. 1. She told her cousin to help her borrow money and lied to her cousin she is borrowing the money on my behalf. This friend still came back to tell me to cover for her incase her cousin contact me to confirm, I did what I had to do to clear my name with her cousin incase that one choose to borrow her. 2. The one that broke my heart, i needed current account holder to complete an application and she was too busy to go to her bank to collect the form, i went to her bank to collect the form from customer service. After i left the bank, she told customer service that the 500k loan she has been begging loan dept for was for my dad’s health 😮 someone that i didnt ask or collect 1 kobo from regarding my father’s health. How can a friend use my father’s health issue to lie for personal gain. 3. She goes back to her family to table my matter after confiding in her.
I had to cut her off over another issue because I realized she doesn’t think twice before throwing me under the bus at any point in her life. Friendship of almost 10 years

Friend for 4 years. Her hubby started making advances at me, I refused and shunned him always. She confronted me accusing me of seducing her hubby. I told her that I have nothing with her hubby rather he was the one disturbing my life but she didn’t believe me despite the fact that I showed her evidence (chats and messages her hubby sent to me). Not only that , she went around spoiling my name telling people that I wanted to collect her hubby, and also spilled secrets I told her in confidence. I was so heart broken. I just stopped talking to her and blocked her everywhere.

We were friends since uni got engaged immediately after school I they were bitter ,they came to our house days to the wedding and I was begging them to help me out with things we had a fight the night to wedding and they ignore me all thru the wedding ,the marriage ended although not there fault but he kept saying that I am a bad person all my friends hate me on my wedding day (they ignore me because I refuse them of packing the gifts because there was not bus to carry them to the venue) after the marriage ended they open a group chat to abuse me about my low budget wedding because it was a palour wedding and they wanted a big wedding one of them even said her heels was better then the iyawo (me) own it been 4 years now I am still trying to get it all from my mind

We were friends for three years.. She told me she was pregnant for the guy she was dating then.. I was so happy for her, she later removed the pregnancy, according to her, her mother told her to remove it, an adult oo!!! Then I got married and got pregnant then she changed towards me, she told me she can’t come to see my baby, that I should bring my baby to see her.. Till date we don’t talk but we view each other whatsapp status.

Part 1
I haven’t cut her off and I don’t really want to, but I feel so sad about this friendship. We’ve been friends for 10years since secondary school, we became close friends for the last 6 years, but our friendship has been a little weird over the past year. Since 2020 I noticed that she would make silly comments about me in front of people like saying “you, I can’t even depend on you for anything” meanwhile this is someone I always went out of my way to show up for. In 2021, I made a joke about her and a male friend of hers which I thought was a light hearted thing and she didn’t take it well but I didn’t know, I just noticed she started giving me one line answers. I asked what was the problem, eventually she told me that she was offended about what I said and decided to just face her front and create distance.

I was really disappointed because If our friendship was important to her wouldn’t she approach me to say I don’t like what you did? I apologized and tried to move on from it. Last year I had my second daughter, it was the most difficult year of my life, and for most of the year I was depressed. During my third trimester I was hospitalized for a few days and I didn’t say anything to anyone because I was depressed and I didn’t want anyone to know or even to visit me. She found out after I came home and was angry with me for not telling her. I tried to explain to her that I was depressed and I didn’t want to see anyone but she said she doesn’t agree with that one, I’m making excuses. Still kept apologizing. After I gave birth it just felt like because I didn’t have the capacity to put time and energy into the friendship she pulled away, and she would always say I should do better do better.

.She was always at my house…We were at my house together just as usual all day, week/weeks long. We run our businesses from my home whilst laughing at ourselves for being booless, we hold prayer session all night even and pray that God sends our husbands our ways just how it should be. And deep down she was planning her wedding and I didn’t know jack. We went to the saloon together from my house to get her hair done a day to her wedding as I made mine about a week ago and then went home for the weekend according to her. There’s this friend of mine that we were besties like We really shared the good and bad times. She was out of job for a while and she was always updating me on how the job hunt was going and stuff. One time I noticed she has started working and she didn’t say a thingy about it to me. I would apologise for something she did wrong to keep peace..bad mouthing me to people ….I was really tired I was planning on ending the friendship until something happened….my dad got her a job.. she got called for the interview and she didn’t tell her parents, her dad kept calling and texting my dad about the job..she lied that she was sick that’s why she didn’t tell them…she lives with her parents at home…after getting the job she couldn’t even call or text to appreciate my dad..my dad said he felt used….that was the height of it…she disrespected my dad… I blocked her everywhere and cut her off… friends for 4 years.

I would always recommend her for jobs,give her opportunities share our earnings equally despite I was the main person for the jobs,I would regularly text and call,till the point I needed a little Favour and she’d never sacrifice no matter how small had to cut her off we were friends for 3/4 years.

I had this friend that used to come stay at my place and sometimes with her boyfriend now ex, I’ll even excuse them to have their privacy 😒.. Around November 2021 I lost my phone and was offline from social media for over 8 months and all this while I never got a miss call from her when I finally came back she didn’t even ask where I’ve been.
One day I saw on her status that she was getting married and I messaged her to ask her why she didn’t inform not to mention inviting me to her wedding guess the excuse she gave? She said it was because when I came back online I was acting cold and that was her reason for not telling me and beside That they didn’t want to loud it🤣😂🤣I just blocked, deleted and removed her as friend from all my social media accounts and phone

So I had this friend, those she was mean to me while in school, when I need an accommodation .
She told me I can only sleep at night, and always go out during the day, even if I don’t lectures .

Fast forward, she reached out and we got talking, she didn’t tell me was engaged, till I saw a picture she posted before she told me.

I been a happy person was more excited that my friend was getting married, I told her let me help you plan your wedding, spoke to vendors and time for her wedding.

I rold her I was coming in two days to her wedding, she left me and went to pick up her friend and told me to fund my way , she didn’t care I had a place to sleep or not or came with an extra cash. This is someone when she came to lagos, I had to speak to my friends to allow sleep at their place and I took food to her.
I bought asoebi and this gal treated me like a shirt.

Well, I thought we were friends until I realized I was just famzing her because she was more socially out there than me… she had the followers on IG, and so on… I would always post her on her birthday, her mother’s birthday, her brother birthday, her convocation,and so on. But I had my birthday and this babe no wish me neither did she post me, (Note: I didn’t want to think of it) until one of our other friends spoke to her and asked her why she didn’t post me and she said it’s coz we are not friends like that.. I felt completely stupid… I then learnt that you can feel a certain way about someone but if doesn’t guarantee that the person feels same for you… I mean I knew this babe for more than 5 years. Same with the same friend I got close to for barely a year,right from the onset my instincts told me to stay clear, but I noticed her zeal to get so close to me,I decided to give the friendship a try after all we’re into the same business, at first she contacted me to a supplier that supplied me bad products that made loss thousands and my huge customers abroad and in Nigeria, my family warned me about her again but I just felt maybe it was a coincidence or something, so I continued with the friendship,with time she began to tell me about her marriage problems,me being unmarried practically told her to pray about it cause I feel marriage could be full of ups and downs,I left my house that was miles and miles away from hers (mind u she doesn’t know where I stay)to visit her in April then in November she invited me to her house that she has a surprise for me that she can’t say it on phone,

I got to her house lo and behold I saw a 2 months old baby she claimed to be hers,I was Surprised bcos she didn’t tell me she was pregnant while I visited her back in April her excuse was she normally goes through temptations during her pregnancies so she decided to keep it private,that she’s aware every human has 5 mins of jealousy that I could get jealous of her coupled with the fact that her hubby just got her a new car , mind u she has jokingly mocked me to go and give birth or get married,that my life revolves only around my business, I cleared her my mind and left, right now after a pending business we have at the moment,I’m blocking and deleting her contact, I wish I listened to my instincts in the beginning 🤦‍♀️😭

I was friends with her for almost 4 yrs. She always acted jealous and couldn’t hide it, I wondered what I had that made her feel that way & I never use to show off or put my success in her face. I spoke to our mutual friends about it and we all came to a conclusion that she’s was the same way with everyone. Super competitive, always wants to be at the top or doing better than everyone around her for what matters to her. She would keep malice with you if she found out you got a blessing she wasn’t part of or given. She also tried dating 2 men that were interested in me. Everyone saw that I loved her regardless of what they saw I was going through and even warned me but I didn’t listen until I came to terms with reality. The last straw for me was when she deliberately destroyed my last birthday celebration (which I didn’t even know it was her doing until a week later) & I also found out she’s dubious too. I had to use wisdom to end the friendship.

I took her like my sister , and honestly we’ve been through a lot together right from our university days , we’ve grieved together, shared so many happy moments together, I guess the problem started when we both got married, I think her husband wasn’t comfortable with how much she shared with me , all of a sudden I could notice the distance, still tried my best God knows I was always opened with her, my husband kept making comments like this girl doesn’t take you the way you do anymore I just refused to believe. Until she sent me a message that she her visa was out and she was moving to the UK with her family . I was genuinely happy for her until it dawned on me that the time she sent that message they had already relocated. I still don’t understand how she could do that to me , but I know I’ll never be friends with her again . It’s still hurts and I miss her but she did this to us . I guess the painful part was all the lies she told just to make sure I don’t find out .

My best friend got angry with me because I didn’t follow her to a party 😂😂😂. I resumed my masters immediately after our NYSC, she told me to follow her to a party and I said I won’t be able to go because I have tutorial for statistics that same date and she said well done ooo, na only you dey do masters. Whenever I call her after that conversation she only picks up whenever she feels like. I asked her if I offended her she said no, and I told her if you’re angry because I didn’t follow you to a party, I’m sorry but I can’t jeopardize the statistics tutorial for party because I’m not good in stat. After that she doesn’t respond to my messages, I even sent her a message on her birthday and she didn’t respond. We were friends for a few years and I advised her on her relationship because she came to me for advice and when I told her she was the toxic one she got angry and started giving me a weird vibe, with her sister as well cause we were all friends. Things were tense for a few months but we still dragged the friendship and when my birthday came, neither of them wished me a happy birthday publicly and only came to privately message me a few hours to end of my birthday. That felt weird for me cause I felt that was unnecessary, I apologized for advising her about her relationship and she accepted, if there was anything else we could talk it out. Communication was slow but not totally extinct, I see no reason why she and her sister couldn’t make me a birthday post considering they did that for other people whom I shared a date with and I was their closest friend. So I just cut it off and they never contacted either.

We were the best of friends, they posted other people they barely even knew and didn’t even comment on my post to wish me a happy birthday. So I just cut the communication, almost a year now

Friend of almost 20yrs.
I started seeing signs while we were planning for my wedding. She disagreed with every choice made by the group until she exited the group without giving a reason. I texted her if everything was okay and her response was she won’t be attending the wedding so no need to be in the group. I said okay, no problem.
Went out of town for the wedding, came back and she sent a text that we are no longer on the same level and we have nothing in common (she’s single) and wished me all the best with life. I was shocked, called severally without an answer.
Her bday was 1 month later, I called severally and sent messages no answer. I was like ahhh ahh?? Lol

I have a similar case with my friend too. We are in different states but she always gets a replica of my wears, hairs, etc. she’d even replicate my poses and use thesame caption I put on the picture, mind you she might not even comment on the picture when I posts it

To the extent that I cut my hair few years ago and then her bf came to my DM that I want his babe to cut her hair too. Lo and behold, few weeks after she cut her hair too. Recently I started making my hair back and she has started making hers too… a mutual friend told me she’d soon start making hers too and she didn’t disappoint.

We were friends for over 10years and she was staying with me. I was pregnant and working and providing and she wasn’t doing anything I didn’t have a problem with that she started dating my Neighbour and two days after I gave birth she called her previous boyfriend and quarreled with him that he was the cause of her not having a child that he made her to terminate her pregnancy when she was pregnant that by now she was also supposed to be a mother. When we got back from the hospital she immediately moved her things from my house to my Neighbour a house and didn’t check on me or my baby. During the naming ceremony which was in the compound she didn’t come out of the house till it was night and she requested for food. After the drama I distanced myself before something else would come out of it cos the envy was too obvious.

I have a friend who does this to me. Gave her my phone to use one time till she repairs her phone. A cousin of hers came and didn’t have a phone and she gave it out without consulting or informing me because I already have 2 phones. It pained me because there were messages in that phone I wanted to document.

The second time, I gave her my mother’s black head tie. If you tie head ties, you’ll know how difficult it is to find black. She gave it out to her sister.

In all of these, it was her reaction when I asked her that pained me severely. More like it’s not a big deal, you can get again. They are not important items.

I didn’t cut her off o. She’s still my very good friend. She good in other things but those incidents pained me and she’s still like that.

I have a friend who didn’t visit me after my surgery her house to mine is just #200 . I was in the hospital twice before surgery I made a week she didn’t come. I was operated I made a week she didn’t come whereas she knew I was in the hospital. I left the hospital after 3 weeks she didn’t come when I tried to explain to her how I felt she said I should cut her off if I wanted….. I mean after everything I still tried reaching out to her she snubbed me I damn the friendship and cut her off. This is not the first time she is doing this. I (19f) and my friend (20f) became friends through a mutual friend about a year ago when I entered college. However she is a bit clingy, she always wants us to do stuff together which I don’t mind sometimes, but most of the time I prefer being alone. I did try to come out of my shell for example calling her during the holidays, going out my way to do things for her…. I don’t do things like this to others and friends I have had because I don’t expect it from other people, if anything I am usually surprised and uncomfortable if someone one does something nice for me, I don’t know why. However, me not calling her or always being by myself doesn’t mean I don’t care about her. I have always been a very introverted person who prefers to wander in her thoughts. I have explained this to her and I am trying to change and be better.

She also has some serious anger issues. She would assume something as the truth and act based on it and say hurtful things in the process, or just get angry becaubecause of something I did and not tell me and these are usually petty things like not commenting on her new hair, or bathing without letting her know (we are coincidentally roommates). Sometimes she would tell me something and accuse me of not reacting the way she wanted.

She would also complain to me about someone doing something she didn’t like and tell me how upset she is with the person. I would advice her to talk to the person first and when she does most of the time we find out it was a misunderstanding and she had already written the person off.

She has an ex boyfriend (let’s call him Michael) in our college and she dating another guy in another college (let’s call him John) but she wants to cheat on John with Michael by lying to Micheal that she has broken up with John so that she can date the two of them at the same time. I was not happy about this and I told her because she has been cheated on before, so I kinda expected her to know how wrong it was regardless of the fact that cheating is already wrong. She has been going on about this for a while now and I will admit that I found it irritating.

So we were watching a movie together and said she wanted to see Micheal and won’t take long and she was gone for over an hour…. When she came back I was pissed and I told her I was angry with her and that I had finished the movie, I realized what I had done and immediately apologized, she wasn’t having it understandably so. I tried initiating conversations with her which she kept shutting down, I felt guilty that I couldn’t talk to her about it again…we went home for the holidays a few days after that and on new years eve I decided to call her since we live far from each other, but she sent me a message before that telling me how selfish and self-centered I was, and how she was only tolerating me because she felt lonely and was better off with no one then she blocked me and deleted my number. I called like I had already planned and explained everything to hher we resolved the issue but I don’t think I want to be as close as I was to her anymore.

She is a great person, but our personalities really clashed in my opinion.

Being friends for at least 7 years. Although it was on and off, mostly like friends when we needed each other, not every day friends.
Fast forward to 2021, it was her wedding prep and I attended her intro even when I wasn’t given excuse form the office, had to leave immediately after work, had a terrible journey but still got there at night for her intro the next day. She’s my babe now and I love to be there for my friends. Intro happened fine and good.
Now to her wedding, she had a lot friends come over to serve as her gals on the day, the usual thing. She normally calls me bestie but in my mind I didn’t feel like I was her bestie, because she calls some other of her friends same thing, so I just felt may be that’s her way of cajoling ppl to do things for her. So on that wedding day the fact that I didn’t vine with 80% of her friends may be cos I was like the oldest in the room, plus me and this babe had like 3 years gap in school. So I mostly took her as a younger sis. ShShe used 2 of her friends as her main people which further sealed the deal for me that I’m not her best friend. It really hurt me cos I felt I was just one of her other friends. After that period, I didn’t take her so seriously again whenever she calls me bestie. I just concluded that anytime she needs my help I’d render it and then we’d be fine but I wasn’t buying the bestie thing. Fast forward to now, all of a sudden she started ghosting me, and I was wondering why. I confronted her about it cos even if I no be real bestie at least I still valued the relationship, she later said I wasn’t giving her the vibe cos she wanted us to be very close and share stuffs together, do things together and all but I wasn’t reciprocating.

That even I disappointed her in so many ways, I didn’t deliver her clothes on time, and Im not reliable. I accepted the fact that I wasn’t reliable, I have my issues and I’m working on them, but I also made mention to her why I didn’t feel like a bestie which made me decided to put the friendship as normal friends. This got to her and made her started acting even worse. I tried explaining to her that I wanted the friendship to be a good one but I didn’t want something that wasn’t real, that’s why I acted the way I acted. I was already accepting her back as a real bestie when these happened. I tired making amends, I’d call, I’d message, send dms but nothing from her. Plus she was traveling out of the country. Now I decided I was going to complete the clothes I had left with me and add a parting gift to her cos I didn’t want to leave in bad terms. A day to her departure I went to her house to deliver the clothes through her Mum, the scornful look and attitude I got from her was soo hurting that it made me feel like I was shit. I understood may be she was still anger and all, all these happened in 4 months. I delivered the clothes and left, she didn’t even say a word to me.

I later sent her a message saying farewell and that I included a parting gift cos I didn’t want to in bad terms. This was on a Sunday. She didn’t reply me until Thursday. And the message was so casual as if she was forced to reply. That was when I decided anything that has to do with her will be ruled out of my life. I prayed to God almighty that he never makes our paths cross ever again. Cos if I was really her friend or even the bestie she claimed I wouldn’t get this treatment from her. Whenever she is, I wish her the best and God’s favour but I never want to be in contact or in the same space with her. I don’t want to have anything to do with her again at all. I know I have my issues but I don’t deserve such treatment.

Least I forget, I tried making amends with her on a day before my bday, she didn’t reply me, left it blank. On my bday she didn’t wish me well. It was a day after my bday she casually sent a message saying “happy belated birthday”. Plus I still forgave her and gave her the gift after my birthday. I know I’m a kindhearted person, I don’t deserve people like her, I’d get someone better.

So for how much i love friendship, I’m about to breakup with one which i feel its the best for me, i housed this girl for weeks for her training. I made her comfortable to the best of my ability, gave her food even though the initial thing she said before coming was to just have a place over her head that she would sort out her feeding herself but i decided to do the cooking without asking for a dime even with my busy schedules, after this babe left my place . The only thing she could do was to call me all sort of names and said i nagged all through the times she was in my place. she said i didn’t cook dinner for her that i lack hospitality, that i should learn hospitality before getting married, she called me stupid and senseless because its by 9pm i always ask her for dinner that “wat would she eat” when obviously i gt home late from work after facing traffic and trekking some times when i dont see bus. She said i nagged whenever she tells me to see her off the street very early in the morning by 5:30am… she insulted me in different ways…I see no reason why i should continue with such friendship.

Aso ebi, this isn’t friendship but my entire paternal cousins, aunt and uncle. I left home since I finished NYSC stayed with my cousin sis, took care of her home (baby and hubby) even though she always act insecure whenever I gist with her husband so I always know my boundary then I left. I haven’t seen them for like 4yrs and I told everyone I’m getting married, I took my husband to be to visit my eldest uncle. We discussed about the wedding preparations and all, I told them I’m having my registry at ikoyi and wedding in Lagos, that was how everyone was against it that I must have my wedding in my eldest uncle house. Their reason was every girl child that has gotten married so far has always done their wedding in in house. Note: the 2 people that have done are orphan so it’s right to do it in his house, I told them even if I’m coming down to their for the wedding then it’s going to be my dad’s house not his, my dad is still alive for crying out loud. It was a serious fight throughout the preparation, wedding came not a single person came from my dad’s side asides from my dad’s distant relative that stayed in Lagos and my dad do attend their functions. My eldest uncle’s wife called on my wedding day that daddy is sick so they can’t make it, I just smiled and said no prob. Wedding came no one called, no gift, no congratulations, 2 weeks after they came for my eldest uncle’s wife nephew wedding in this same Lagos, I saw the picture, my own direct cousins that aren’t related to the guy came. Weeks later my eldest male cousin called that he is in Lagos and if he is chanced he will visit buy no news, another one called during Xmas she wants to come spend Xmas on my house I refused. Then I sat down and think that since I have always celebrated my birthdays my cousins have never posted me before but I always post them and congratulate everyone, when I was in school I haven’t since 1k from any of the before but my eldest uncle’s daughter who is same age as me, she always receive gifts on her birthday, receive Xmas and new year cloth every year, receive money and so many things then I knew I was never loved by my father’s relative but when they need someone to help them with anything they always remember but the one they shower with gift can even sweeep the room for them so right now I view their status when they celebrate and I intentionally view so they can know I see it but I don’t congratulate them again. But you see my mother’s relative OMG I can do anything for them, I was able to graduate all bcoz of them coz when government refused to pay my parents salary, my dad called me I need to defer my admission for my eldest brother to graduate first coz of money but they came through till I graduate, I love my mum’s relative so much and I can’t trade them for anything.
Least I forget, I put to bed and guess what only my eldest uncle’s wife called to congratulate me as usual…. I’m on my own right now aso ebi, it is well

She was always low key jealous when I leave school to go on trips with my bf.
She graduated during Covid but there was no graduation ceremony back then. She travelled down for my graduation, stayed in my house but ended up not “attending” my graduation ceremony. She was busy doing makeup for other “friends”. We didn’t even snap a picture together. Her actions during her stay showed how “unhappy and jealous” she was of me. About 3 people even asked me why she’s acting so jealous. If you weren’t really happy of my achievements, you didn’t need to stress yourself to come over.
I got married to my bf, the same jealousy was all over her reactions.
Friendship with her was just too difficult and I kept walking on egg shells. We eventually drifted apart and I couldn’t have been more happy about that.

She would keep malice with you if she found out you got a blessing she wasn’t part of or given. She also tried dating 2 men that were interested in me. Everyone saw that I loved her regardless of what they saw I was going through and even warned me but I didn’t listen until I came to terms with reality. The last straw for me was when she deliberately destroyed my last birthday celebration (which I didn’t even know it was her doing until a week later) & I also found out she’s dubious too. I had to use wisdom to end the friendship.

A friendship of 2yrs ooo, we met in school and become good friends. She comes to my house and I also go to hers. Few weeks before my bday I met my boyfriend now my husband and we had a church program in my church. I invited her and my boyfriend, on that day she started giving excuses then later said if we didn’t pick her she won’t go. We picked her, we got to church this girl decided she wanted to seat beside my husband then we later came together, few minutes after we got to church this girl say make we they go house 😮. The event was a love something she even johnny was to perform and he never even perform. She didn’t allow us seat at the front cos she said she was shy. Fast forward sha, on my bday my boyfriend came a day before and we all went to studio for my photoshoot, bday day babe said she’s not feeling fine. As a good friend I sent my boyfriend to her house to give her food. I no even reason anything.
This Japa issue came started application, she also started hers. I got denied ooo. Then this girl was always asking for update not knowing she was envious.
I moved from the state I was to another state to my family since my plans didn’t work out cos I left everything cos of japa. Our communication reduced then she would call me when she had just spoken to me bf saying I just spoke to your bf, we are even trying to meet up. I didn’t see anything, that’s how I dreamt she tried sleeping with my bf and I told him, and he said God forbid. So I travelled to visit my bf and also celebrate my bday the next year, this girl and my bf came to pick me up at the airport cos I told her I wanted her to do my makeup, she said she needed to go help a friend somewhere. No problem. Bday she no show.
After a while, this girl posted a makeup picture on her status and I tried booking her for Saturday by telling her to come to do my makeup. She replied makeup koor make up no. So I ignored it and booked another make-up artist. I didn’t talk to her after that day.
Do you know that the day she and my bf came to pick me up at the airport he told her he wanted to propose to me on my bday and she advised him not to by telling him he had to meet my father first and other silly excuses Then I started adding everything up which means that’s the reason she didn’t show up and refused to do my make up every time I asked her.
My bf proposed without her and sent her an invitation she didn’t say congratulations will today, few days later she called me and asked if her ex-bf called me and in my head, I was like I never met your ex and we haven’t met when u separated.
Called my bf she didn’t know I was till around saying he doesn’t return the same energy she gives when she calls and check up on him that it’s not good, she just said sorry and immediately she was like she would call back and that she wants to do something quickly, she didn’t.
A few weeks again called asking me about my ielt exam that she wants to do and she’s processing her visa too. Meanwhile, I reapplied for my visa and I’ve gotten it but didn’t tell her anything.
The proposal she didn’t congratulate me, or wedding invite, she didn’t say anything, the wedding has passed no congratulations till today. Omo ✂️

We were friends for a year we were quite close to an extent, she told me that we shouldn’t come to work on a particular day and I also didn’t come to work only for me to find out that she cane to work for the full week and when my boss asked her about my whereabouts she said she’ll call and she never did only for me to get back to work and she started putting up an attitude and at the end of the month my salary was reduced and she got a higher pay and she assumes everything us okay
Not only that I had an accident recently she heard about it but never reached out to know how I was faring

A supposed friend took offense because I didn’t tell her my Japa plans. I didn’t tell her cause I know she will tell other people and it will spread. The Japa eventually didn’t work out and shes been acting funny since then. If I had to make d decision again, I still won’t tell her cos she tekks her family everything.

This my friend likes fighting with everybody,she doesn’t even respect her Family members in my presence and she does many shitty things for money,but i still continued our friendship. So there was a day she wanted me to help her do something on WhatsApp and i had to use the settings,i noticed she blocked my 2numbers from viewing her status. Thus is somebody that comes to me for advice,financial assistance,foodstuffs e.t.c i ignored and didn’t even talk about it but i eventually cut her off when she started telling obvious lies i didn’t have strength to argue i just deleted her number

I had this classmate (supposed friend) while we were in Junior high school she would snitch on me here and there, I never held it against her. I switched school in my senior secondary, I met her there and we became bonk mates coincidentally. This girl would always ask for my provisions, when I’m making a quick cereal she would say “make for 2” I did that till my provisions finished🤦🏻‍♀️ It got red and I asked her once then she said it’s almost finished she can’t give me.. but we practically finished mine together.

I let it go, 2 years ago when she was about to get married. She called me to inquire about makeup as I am a makeup artist, this girl asked me like it was for someone else and I had to ask series of questions before she opened up that she was the one in need of my service.

Note: (I was engaged at the time but it didn’t work out) so she told me we could shop together bla bla bla, she put me in a very high spirit, I was already glad that it would be a time to bond. Only for this girl to do everything without telling me, even asoebi I didn’t hear, she never got back to me about the makeup. Asked her once and she gave one story. Then her chief brides maid told me to go and buy the material in the market and sew. I said thank you, I didn’t show up for the wedding and that was the end for me.

She buzzed after some months asking if I was ok cause she wasn’t seeing my status 🙄. Girl bye.

We’ve been friends since secondary school, like 18 years. In Uni, she stayed with me for months at a time without contributing a kobo to food or anything. Got a job immediately after NYSC while she was still waiting. sometimes, when I want to go out to buy stuff like clothes or hair, she says she wants to go and then borrows money from me to buy and never mentions it again.
After I got married, she had access to my house, she is invited to every event in my family. My parents and their siblings ask of her if she doesn’t come. I’ve seen her through heartbreaks.
She got married and didn’t tell me and we spoke like a week before then, she even invited her other friends, had to see on someone’s status and chatted her congratulations, she just said thank you. She later now said they asked her not to tell anybody. Big party that I saw videos.
My family and I was planning to travel to canada, carried her along every step, even encouraged her to apply while she was waiting to meet the right man.
After wedding that I was not invited to or told, my friend travelled and she didn’t say a word.
She has blocked me from seeing her WhatsApp status now and I’ve just moved on.
I was hurt and just asking God to help me forget.

She was a bad vibe. she never compliments probably a new bag, hair, shoe etc. I told her everything about my bf and trip to dubai even to my flight details. I couldn’t feel any excitement or ginger from a so called “best friend”. When I got back from my trip that week, I saw on IG she also travelled out on a girls trip. She didn’t share her own trip with me cos shes so competitive and wanted to shock me 😂… She never likes or comments on my IG posts but she comments and hypes other of her friends and even celebrity’s post. I ran away from the friendship biko.

People are going through stuff that they just don’t want to bother others with.
People who have my WhatsApp number can swear to how much I’m very active with posting (especially Happy things) on my status, replying and possibly reposting others statuses.
Those who really know me know that even on low days, I still try.
One time, I was feeling really low and someone I considered a friend asked how I was. Because I felt I could be “real”, I simply summarised it to not having a good day.
This person brushed off my feelings with “Now you’re doing this thing your gender normally do” and in my head, I was like… What has gender got to do with this?
Because I didn’t even have the energy, I just left things as they were and didn’t respond.
I needed help with something, this person left me on read. Called, they didn’t respond. When I got the issue sorted, I deleted the messages so they don’t bother cos maybe they were busy or just unreachable at the time.

The next time I would respond to their status update, this person replied with “Was even thinking you would have deleted my contact by now” and I was left like… 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I don’t understand.
Now, I get that people are quick to cut off people for even mundane reasons and I have come to respect that.
What you see as not being a big deal might be “very Hooge” to another. To each his own sha.

My worst mistake was giving a colleague friendship benefits. We should normalize keeping some pple as just “colleagues” and relate with them as such. I had a colleague whom I thought was my friend. Assisted in planning her wedding blah blah, even at her wedding i was the only friend available. Fast forward to after she got back from her leave, Aunty started acting up, always want to win any argument like we’re competing, she’d keep malice with me for weeks in short her vibes became very toxic. Shortly after she started processing her japa (her husband) is abroad. She’d say it openly and condescendingly that she was gonna leave our place of employment before me and japa. I kept trusting God. Miracle no dey tire Jesus! That was how I got another job and resigned even left her there.. I cut her off immediately.

We have been friends since Uni and we practically do almost all things together. She was always at my house…We were at my house together just as usual all day, week/weeks long. We run our businesses from my home whilst laughing at ourselves for being booless, we hold prayer session all night even and pray that God sends our husbands our way just how it should be(one out of so many things we do). And deep down she was planning her wedding and I didn’t know jack. We went to the saloon together from my house to get her hair done a day to her wedding as I made mine about a week ago and then went home for the weekend as she has been with me for weeks and she needed to come with new sets of clothes according to her and to also see her parents. She sent pictures to me the following Monday about how she got wedded and then ask me not to post. Mo ya cut werey danu

She was one of my best friends. Three of us. Then she married my rapist. She knew, she was there the day it happened. Tried forgiving her. Chugged it down to naivety. 12 years later, I realised I still resented them both. Couldn’t stand the sight of him. It was the elephant in the room whenever she and I saw or spoke. She never came to apologise. She never made him admit and apologise. Hated it more when she changed her surname on social media, Facebook, IG to his name. Seeing her call, post or page with that name was sickening and triggering every single time. So I blocked her everywhere. I was tired of pretending I was okay. The story is more than this that even makes it more painful because I was targeted. Anyway, I miss her but nah, I had to move away from that.
