I did.But my husbands family begged for him. I just felt like everything he’d promised to take care of before the wedding he didn’t and I just felt that was a picture of my future. Lack of execution is a huge turn off for me…I was beggable though and I was right… Living with him not executing any plan. I should have trusted my gut.

We were together for 6 years and was planning our trad for December, but he was a chronic cheater and liar. In March of that year, one of his girls sent me a message on Facebook with pics of them and shared some secrets that was meant to stay between me and him. She asked me to leave him for her and stay in the US. I broke it off after that. I was hurting for over a year, and was even more hurt when he finally got married thinking I made a mistake. Now that I’m married to my amazing husband, I know that was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. He was not half the man my husband is, and I could’ve missed out on all this just by holding on ❤️🥰

Lol! This one is funny😂 he didn’t officially propose but he wanted to do introduction, I said ok. I had a thing for smelling BS so we had a fight and didn’t speak for about 2weeks. I had told my parents about the introduction so I went home to Warri as planned. When I got home, I told my parents that I don’t want the introduction to happen as I don’t see my future with the stupid boy…my parents started cussing me out as a rebellious child that I was (I know😍), coincidentally he called almost immediately on cue, my parents said that that’s how I would have used my hand to scatter something for myself and I should better answer😂 I said ok o…he apologized and insisted that he was coming with his uncles…my parents were very excited.

The day before the introduction, my mother was doing the most going to market and prepping, my father was dancing and making calls for his friends to come🤦🏽‍♀️ I told them to reconsider especially because I don’t want a

The next day, my mother woke up early and even woke me up early and I was so mad, I told her I am not getting up or bathing until the land at the airport, I sha helped to prep food. Hour by hour, my dad was doing the most, turned on gen, playing music, had a bath, dressed real nice, my mother finished cooking and did thesame, I went back to bed. Hour by hour, they will come and say call him, I called earlier and he said they where coming, after that, it was switched off, my father said maybe they are in the air (Tor, I Dey laugh for my mind)

To cut the long story short, by evening it was evident they they were not coming and I was hungry so I finally decided to come out of my room, only to find my parents sitting in the palour looking downcast 😂 I dished food for everyone and we all ate. Then my father said ‘are you sure nothing happened to their flight’😂 I had to now calm down and explain why I changed my mind and what had transpired.

My dad looked at me and said he was sorry for doubting me and thinking I was unserious with my life. My mum asked if there was any other toaster, I sha told her to my now husband who was in the shadows somewhere, I was still considering if to take him seriously or not, trust her to jump on that wagon too😂 we started dating the next day 😂 and we are married 6years later😂

Yes
Ended it after introduction.
I wanted to be done with university before wedding . I had one left but he refused .
He loves to be worshipped, like a God. If he buys you a gift, he expects that you Thank Him every day for it.

He insulted my mom one day, that was the height of it .
He doesn’t have sense abeg, I just wonder what I was thinking.
He got married like two years later, I had to unfriend him on Facebook cos he was all over showing love up and down .

Marriage packed up few years after.

We dated for about 4 years, it was a turbulent one ranging from doctrinal differences to his family didn’t like me, I don’t understand how I was still in such a toxic relationship, a day to the traditional wedding his family brought up different reasons why the wedding should be moved to a later date, that was where I received sense and said I am not doing again, it was hard but I survived, God gave me another man, we became friends and got married and all I can saw is thank you Jesus because I can’t be having it this sweet with that other guy

Yes mama. Met a guy, had a blissful relationship and got engaged within a short period. Problem came when i asked how he made most of his money as what he was spending wasn’t matching his presumed salary. I mean “bank personnel” in Lagos from average family would visit me in Abuja 3 weekends a month, hotel, shoppings, expensive gifts, trips etc. He dismissed it as “business“ but I wasn’t settled in my spirit. I inquired further and it brought a fight.
I threatened to call off the engagement as a way of making him open up and quite surprisingly, he agreed to it.
Last year, he was arrested for aiding fraud.

I honestly wish I broke off my engagement. My fiancé started making more money and things took another turn. He doesn’t care as much as he used to anymore. I miss the little things. He believes once he gives me money, I should be fine. I make my own money too and can afford to spoil myself. All I need is attention, texts, hugs, cuddles. Keep your money! I wish things would go back to normal. It’s the little things for me honestly 😢 I miss the man I met and I’m currently pregnant. I don’t even know what to do 🥲

This guy stopped communicating with me for a month after engaging me over a petty issue… I have actually been bearing him keeping malice with me for days but this particular one was the deal breaker… I was depressed cos I couldn’t reach him anywhere and I couldn’t visit him without having him call his estate gate to grant me access… I contacted his brother and he would come around… this guy read all my messages and didn’t reply… he didn’t pick my calls… and I was like NO I don’t think I want to be in this kind of marriage which will be filled with malice… I don’t have the mind for it so I sent his ring back via dispatch… funny right lol

It was hard but I had to stand my ground, His mother never really liked me, and he is a mummy’s boy, it was hard but God helped me, now I met another man and it’s the best thing ever, we are happily married

I realized that his baby mama was living with his parents and also his parents postponed the introduction dates like twice and they told him they were not ready to support him financially. His mothers first excuse for postponing the introduction date was “A pastor said they should postpone the introduction date” and their second excuse was his mums sisters said the introduction dates are too early. And also, he has too many people taking decisions for him. He doesn’t have a saving habits.. I ended the whole relationship myself… Good riddance to bad rubbish… One month later, I realized he’s in a relationship with another lady and he posts the lady on his WhatsApp status… Thank God I didn’t marry him.

He had an awful temper. He’d get angry and throw his phone, I was scared one day I’ll be the one he’d throw! Also he was jealous of the relationship I had with my mum (we are very close). He was constantly trying to make it seem like there was a competition between the two of them. If he called she couldn’t (no one could) interrupt. I had to be ready for convo, outing, joking etc when he was ready. Worse was when after an argument that was patched up, he lied to his family and said that me and my family were ashamed of his own. We thank God it’s ended though as my current husband is a Godsend. I still can’t believe I almost married that my ex!

I sensed the mother is controlling and want to be in the picture of everything, of which I did not agree to and she saw it, in fact she ordered me to knee down and was saying all sort of and the son did not see anything wrong with it. Later, the mother said she his not in support of the marriage anymore and the son broke up with me just like that. Today makes it exactly one month he broke up with me………

Yes , we had an introduction in December 2021 and he proposed in January 2022 until suddenly he started having issues with me working at all. Next I knew he was hitting me and started calling me crazy because I wouldn’t quit my job. It escalated to the point where he called my colleagues and hr to ask if we worked late, I found out and called off the engagement .
Long story short I found out he was cheating and lying about dating his colleague at work, less than 6 months later, they were married.

Ps. We dated 4 years and 10 months.

I broke off an engagement when I found out he was siphoning my money and giving me stories. Money of years of hard work to get. He now said he was duped. I can’t deal with someone with such mismanaging skills. So I returned his ring
My other engagement was broken off by my ex, it was a long distance one and he said GOD told him I m longer his spec after 3years.
But I m glad it all happened as it led to many beautiful things

I and the guy I’m dating have gotten serious and his parents have met mine , i agreed to date him because i felt he was really cool and spiritual but later found out he believes in all this Cele people , even found out one time he was chanting something on my name , he said its for my own good and he will stop, I will see series of sponge and bathing soap in his bathroom, and now he hides it from me and said it’s for protection and not evil

Recently he sent a huge sum of money to the woman ( pastor) over 200 thousand naira and told her to help him do what she helps him renew every six month, he doesn’t know i know this but i have found out and he says it’s just prayer and the woman or things he does that he now keeps from me is not evil

Help !!!! Please advise me

I broke an engagement twice, first guy was like a joke because we were still in school 3rd year(uni) he didn’t have a job or private apartment, so yeah a joke.
Second guy rushed the whole relationship into an engagement within 2 months, as time went by I realized he just wasn’t a kind, honest and the type of person I would want to father my unborn children. So I left him and ended all wedding plans, he still calls once in a while to check up on me.

Yes and with the things i know now, i wish that relationship didn’t have to get to 4 years 😩. Dude was a gaslighting, controlling, selfish, narcissistic goat. And funny enough i interpreted all these as love until i had to borrow myself brain because i felt caged and i knew i was more than what i was allowing myself to become. So i broke the engagement few days to the introduction. One of the best and bravest things i have ever done for myself 🙌. My life drastically changed for the best after that, like a lot of good amazing things started happening to me all at once. One of the best things that happened was meeting my husband few days after the breakup. Trust God people and alway trust your instincts

Yes..We found out were both AS. No we were not naive. Just that prior to that time, I had always thought I was AA because I had about “4geniune” results stating I was AS. Thankfully we checked just to be double sure just after our intro and then we found out. This happened in 2016. Was really hard, but we moveee!.. I am married now, I honestly do not know if he is married or not.

Ah toh the guy was a Mummy’s boy and the Mummy thought she had seen ATM, first she started asking for expensive fabrics that I hadn’t even bought for my own mum, next Nigerian foodstuff in large quantity, the deal breaker was when she insisted on a huge wedding without wanting to contribute a dime just because the son has a blue passport, claiming she is related to the Okoyas, going as far as saying I should go to the bank and borrow money if I can’t get it from my office. That they will pay me back after the wedding because they can’t access ready funds. how is that now my business. In all this the only thing bomboy said was anything mummy wants is what he’ll do. Read so many of the stories on your site, I must say it all I opening because i just broke up my relationship with my ex one of the reasons being that he is not ambitious, and he whenever we quarell this boy will ignore my texts and voicenotes even though I’m crying blood in all of them.
We’ve been staying together for almost 2years now and then comes up with that we should stay apart because his father said it is not right to stay with a woman you’re not married to. And to think we were planning to leave the country together this year ooo.

I got engaged in February last year cause I was leaving the country. We even did our introduction based on the fact that I had known him (not even closely o) for 11 years. We can barely agree on anything and now I’m thankful we didn’t get married officially cause gradually calling everything off (trying counseling just to make sure we’re making the right decision).

Yes! We had gone to the park to pick up my sister. I was the one driving. You know how agbero act when they see a young lady driving a luxury car. Immediately I got down they started calling me ashewo he just ignored like he did not hear but when I got to the house i saw a message from him that he has told me to always dress well, ( was putting on a shortskirt n kimono) that he was embarrassed there n even ghosted me for 4days. I knew at that point I could not continue with it. No matter if i was dressed as a core girl he should have protected me in the presence of those guys

I broke up an engagement with my ex in 2020 when I realized he was a respecter of no one after I followed him to his town for his grandma’s burial, not even his mother can put him to order😏 maybe because he’s an only child and she doesn’t want him to get angry. He was also becomining too aggressive and controlling towards me,hence I was scared make he no go beat me one day😁. He wants me to give him every single details about my finances, uncle come still add cheating on top… my introduction was supposed to happen immediately before his grandma’s death, but we had to put it on hold to finish the whole seven days burial activities. Immediately I got back to Lagos from the burial, I just told my mum not to bother about the intro again and stop all preparations, thankfully for me her sister also said her pastor advised they put a hold on the introduction…na so I commot head ooo🤣🤣

I broke of two engagements. The first was with my childhood sweetheart of 5 years. He had a great job but came from a struggling family. I was a uni student but came from a medium well off family. I’ve always believed in being independent so I never asked for money from my parents to get him something. I started a small business and never missed gifting him for special occasions. His family began to assume I was eating his money because when he traveled overseas he always left his house keys and cards with me. So they started to interfere and told him he will be disowned if he stays with me(golddigger). His cousin is the one who told me what his family was doing as he was too afraid to say anything. So I confronted him and he confessed. Asked me for time and after 3 months I ended the engagement. He said I gave up on him too quick. Second, I got back with my ex from a few years ago.He walked back into my life on my last day of prayer and fasting. I was fasting for a husband🤣. I thought God has answered. So after a month he proposed. He didn’t want to wait since we’ve been together before. I told him I’ll think about it but a day later I woke up to congratulation messages from people he told that we are getting married in 4 months. He bought things for traditional wedding.
Without telling me. He wanted to surprise me when I traveled back to the country for holiday with a surprise weeding. His 7 year old niece told me. So I started I to panick and asked him why he got back with me? He said because he loved me. Then as we spoke brother revealed that he basically has been stalking me for years. Even to the point of following my ex fiance around town and to his work. He knew where we went and had us followed, pictures taken, had my ex’s number plate etc. I ran for my life. Had to block him everywhere because he would screenshot my posts and send it back to me. He also used to record our video calls and photoshop it to make it look bad.

I know this is for a broken engagement,but pls permit me to say this.
I dated him for 5 years before before i knew he was Satan’s PA.
A serial cheat who would even give me STIs, every narcisistic behaviour with a sprinkle of beating, mind you he was spending my money and collecting it be force because he was unemployed at the time., i found out in the most harst way possible, He begged and sent people to beg and mumu me, i believed him.. we got married and he showed me ségé pro max, we have a child, I was very unhappy,suffering and i had nothing because he had drained me, got a job of his own, but was selfish too and would not share except to breadcrumb me.
It is good to have good female friends they were there for me.
After 11 years both relationship and marriage.
I walked away, with my child….
I dont have anything, but i will have it, I have a brain, great friends and a food family so i know i will be fine eventually….
Very soon i will bake my divorce cake…
