Blood Vessel Movie Review: Stream or Skip?

Hi Lovelies, have you seen “Blood Vessel”? Is this a stream or skip for you? Blood vessel started with the story of a region in Niger Delta and how fate intertwined the lives of Abbey, Oyin, Boma, Olotu, Tekena and Degbe.

What initially promised a chance at a better life soon transformed into a struggle for survival, testing the boundaries of friendship, exposing betrayal and exploring the intricacies of love and vulnerability.

Abbey and Oyin were trying to elope to give their love a chance, Tekena and Olotu were on their path to greener pastures abroad, Boma and Degbe were trying to flee from the protest that had gone wrong; whereas they didn’t know what life had in store for them.

This movie was a rollercoaster of emotions, at some point you’re sad, and then hopeful and then angry; it was a rollercoaster of emotions. It had a way of captivating the audience, and just wanting to know what would happen next.

I honestly didn’t like how Oyin died and how almost everyone died, but that’s realistic to be honest. The acting was also great in my opinion. The characters played their roles well making it easy for us viewers to invest emotionally in their struggles and triumph.

“Blood Vessel” also explores so many themes, starting from the oil exploration in the Niger Delta down to slavery and other series of issues. I think they did a good job balancing it and none was left behind. The movie didn’t drag on too long in my opinion and it all just made sense and came together nicely.

Would I recommend the movie? Absolutely. It’s an interesting watch, you just have to be ready for the few violent parts. It’s available on Netflix, if you would like to see it!
